This month's message is coming to you from cold and wet West Lafayette,
Indiana. It is that time of year again: the season of the college
visitation. This time it's with Ian and it's just one school. The best part
is the three hours I had on the plane to work on Helen's Star. I want to
thank Karen Krampe for organizing such a wonderful workshop in honor of
Helen Cademy, long time member of Muchas Manos. Margaret Bendig designed a
wonderful project in Helen's honor and taught a wonderful workshop for us
last month. Helen herself would have been very pleased.
Thank you also to all those members who assisted in the workshop — Karen
and I both feel very grateful that we have members who are so supportive and
ready to lend a hand any time there is a need. I hope all of you who
attended the workshop are having as much fun working on the piece as I am.
We have a great variety of programs coming up, including Margaret's
beautiful Golden Pomegranate. Combining gold work and needle-painting in a
beautiful design, we have a wonderful opportunity to stitch this piece which
has been accepted for publication by "Inspirations". How exciting is that?!
We have a great year ahead – you won't want to miss a stitch.
